Its the 1980's, Its Italy. Synth Italo pop and dance are in full swing. One of the epicentres is Modena.... Enter stage left the svengali figure of Ennio Tricomi and his assembled girl group "Cruisin' Gang".
The Cruisin' Gang had a decent run, but never quite broke through. 25 years later and their kitsch Italo music finds favour here at Nang towers. We know its kinda cheesey and the lyrics bring a smile to the face, but we just love those Italo grooves.
Here we present two of their finest tunes. 'On The Beach' and the strangely familiar 'Chinatown'. We've added an edit of 'Chinatown' which updates things for todays dancefloors.
When label-mate, wonderkid heard we were re-releasing this he declared himself a closet Cruisin' Gang fan and just had to do a mix. Of course we obliged and his leftfield, twisted-beat synthfest is the impressive result.
All aboard for Modena, 1984
