This May Nu Disco's label Nang drops another fresh and groovy EP coming from British producer James Bright and former Sub Sub's lead singer Melanie Williams, featuring Headpocket on remix duty.
After the well-received remixes' single of Daniele Baldelli and Dj Rocca and the long waited Rayko's album, Nang presents 'You Send Me EP', another Nu Disco's single, coming this time from the collaboration between producer and song writer James Bright and singer Melanie Williams. Bright's music has been previously released and featured on few Café Del Mar and Music For Cocktails' compilations, while Mrs. Williams is the former Mancunian band Sub Sub's lead singer and has reached, with various singles, the Top 50 of the UK Singles Chart giving her the opportunity of being released by Virgin and Columbia Records.
The EP comprises the duo's title track, another original from James Bright and a remix from ever green UK's producer Headpocket, who's just released a single on No Static Recordings. The original version of 'You Send Me' is a groovy Nu Disco track, merging the ethereal and soulful voice of Melanie with catchy synth and bass lines, adding a poppy touch to this 'good summer feelings' tune. Headpocket's version is a more club oriented tune, fusing a funky and acidy bass line to a more UK Deep House synth's melodies, reminding in different part of the tracks sometimes Tom Trago's music sometimes artists like Huxley or early Dusky's stuff. The singles closes with James Bright's solo original 'Fizzycal', an uplifting cut in which relentless grooves and an unstoppable bass line are mixed with funky guitar riffs, creating a perfect mixture between Old School Disco's vibes and a modern Dance Floor focused tune with a great after-party energy.
