Situation are a collective of seasoned DJ's, musicians & producers from the South West of England, all sharing the same vision & passion for music. The core group consists of Mr Mulatto, Ben Vacara, Paul Walker, Dom Thompson, James Payne and vocalists - Lauren Rimmel & Andre Espeut.
Situation was born in 2009 putting out funk, disco & boogie edits on their own vinyl label 'Situation' & 'Digital Situation' for DL's, also releasing on labels such as Disco Deviance, Tribute & Chopshop, alongside limited undercover 12"s - championed by Dicky Trisco, Pete Herbert, Unabombers, Ashley Beadle, Fingerman, J Kriv, Sleazybeats, Max Essa & Greg Wilson who included the 'Machine Gun' edit on his 'Radio 1 essential mix' & has played & supported numerous Situation edits over the years. Many of their unique mash ups, edits and remixes have found their way to lighting fires on many dance floors, and been acclaimed & played by a whole host of DJ's worldwide.
Over the past few years Situation have been honing their production skills on original compositions – which reflect combinations of Jazz fuelled boogie, Nu Disco & deep house.This new direction coincided with the recruiting of vocalist Lauren Rimmel and the launch of the new imprint 'Situationism'. The debut release 'Barcelona' came with a great remix by Psychemagik, which Nang Records signed & re-released.
Since then, they have had a string of releases & remixes on ‘Tru Thoughts’, 'Nang', 'United', 'No Static', ‘Toolroom’, ‘Peng records’, ‘Master works Music, HOT DIGITS, Editorial, Paper Disco, Midnight Riot, ISM, Tirk records & ‘Our records’ - including remixes from Psychemagik , Pete Herbert, Dicky Trisco, Hot Toddy, Max Essa, Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, Danielle Baldelli & DJ Rocca, The Supermen Lovers, Venice Beach, Bitter Suite & Poolside. Plus the ‘Situation’ collective’s own - Das Bitter, DT (Dom Thompson), Mr Mulatto, Vampire Disco.
