Situation are a collective of Disco DJs, producers, editors and musicians hailing from the The Five Valleys in the UK. After a string of well received self-releases and a 12" on Tunnel Italy, we've finally managed to get them Nang for the sensational new EP titled 'Barcelona' featuring a remix from the ever-brilliant Psychemagik.
The remix is first, and it's the kind of deep, sexy Nu-Disco you come to expect from Psychemagik. Huge bass and excellent use of the original's vocal, which follows next. It kicks off with a house beat and plucked guitar, before that powerful vocal hit's us again, this time as it was intended. It's a super top-line that flows and fuses with the other live elements, keys, percussion, and synth chords, all working in soulful unison. It's perfect for the tapering season and definitely a warm welcome to sunnier times.
These two tracks are accompanied by four edits by the Situation themselves. First up there's a 'Disco Remix' which throws some swing and horns into the mix. The 'Balaeric Remix' opens up space for some cosmic pads and guitar noodling for those lazy beach afternoons.
The 'Electro Remix' ramps up the energy a bit with its stomping 80's drum hits and Andy Compton's The Rurals project finishes things off with his soulful house remix.
